Recently, I made my own PP photos using http://www.epassportphoto.com/
This is a great service - It creates a jpeg file from a picture that you upload, and you can choose the "free" option in which you can save the jpeg file with 4-6 pictures in one frame (A 4" x 6" photo can yield 6 pp photos of 2" x 2"), and take it to Walgreens/Costco/Kinkos for a printout for $0.25 each. Otherwise you pay about $8-$12 for 2 photos at the same stores!!
For a family of 4, this equates to savings of ~ $40!!!
The site has all the tools for meeting various types of visa/pp/etc photo requirements for various countries.

I received an RFE on my H1-B application this year with the following questions. My H1-B sponsorer is currently discussing with the attorneys to better handle this situation. I would appreciate if someone can respond me how to handle this scenario properly.
Following are the context from the RFE document.

This information is necessary to determine whether the actual duties to be performed under contract for an end client are duties associated with the specialty occupation sought.
If the beneficiary will work on an in-house project, submit evidence describing the in-house project, the length of time the beneficiary is expected to work on the project, team members assigned to the project, their titles and duties, and invoices showing the sale of the product to your customers. Explain the qualification necessary for the project and how the beneficiary is qualified for the project. This kind of H1 RFE is common this year. Employer needs to send the end-client letter for RFE.

I think you there should not be problem as you have new job offer...
One thing I could not understand , why have they called for interview ? I know few people in similar situation got their GC mailed to them.
Have you informed USCIS about AC-21 after leaving petitioner epmloyer ?

Every lawyer is a businessman. And every businessman has a success story to tell to advertise himself. And you are unknowingly doing viral marketing. Look up on Google what viral marketing it. Has any of these lawyers done viral marketing of IV or greencard backlog action items on their forums and newsletters? So why are you advertising them? You go around town asking lawyers if they did any case successfully Showing a Valid Employer-Employee Relationship. And you will mostly get Yes answer so that they get more business. So why promoting only one lawyer.
Not sure why some folks make a big deal about some lawyer getting some advertisement. I don't work or favor any specific lawyer. I am posting some information that could be helpful to the community. If you read through that posting, you will see some smart wordings that could shut out USCIS memo.
Consider it for its content rather than who is writing it. For me IV is the primary forum. All other websites just supplement the information. We should welcome information wherever it comes from if we can benefit from it.

I would like to know the answer too, but my research tells me that only in few cases, you can use I-140 premium processing. In my case, I am not able to use it as my H1B started on Oct 07 (it is not expiring anytime soon).

Hi all,
This year I got my H1B approved with start date Oct 1st 2007 through a consultancy. I had also applied for GC in July (as derivative) and got my EAD October last week.
The consultancy hasn't placed me on project so far (it's been more than a month) , and I am concerned , if this period of "no pay" will affect my GC process in anyway.:(
The consultancy wants me to get an SSN now, because a couple of their clients want to know the SSN number before considering for projects.
Would getting an ssn number based on the H1B effect me in anyway later on.....in case it takes longer for the consultancy to assign me a project?:confused:
In the mean time I have been looking for jobs in my area , and if I find one before the consultancy assigns a project, I have decided to go ahead and use my EAD card.. and get SSN based on EAD.
Could someone please please let me know if there is any effect on GC if I get an SSN on H1B...or if I use EAD to get an SSN would it invalidate my H1B?:confused:
I would much rather be safe than sorry.

Yes! The comprehensive Immigration Bill is the best remedy not just address the issues facing the Arizona Law or any other state that wants to follow the footsteps ............ but for us too. There has been no legislation for employment based immigrants for many years now, and we are stuck in impossible situations - Yes CIR is a way for us too!

Pappu -- Is there anything i need to do besides sending the e-mail. I've sent the e-mail twice and its been a week since the contribution has made. I am by no means waiting desperately waiting to get access to donor forums but i am curious. Please let me know what i am missing. I am trying to be as close to relevant as I can be. As i said, a past legislation doesn't mean future legislation would be same BUT it definitively give us a lesson what we should strive to prevent....

I work in Health Insurance domain so if you need help in understanding the technical terms, may be I can help.
Kaiser Permanente mght be a good option if you are buying at individual level. I am not sure if they provide services in TN but if they do, then I would go for it. It is a HMO plan but KP hospitals provide reasonably good services at reasonable price in California.

Sometimes employers have an agreement with the law firms that all primary correspondance should happen between the employee and employer representative usually HR / Immigration Compliance administrator. Employer representative will direct the employee to the law firm if they are not able to answer their questions. This is the scenario with my employer. Hope this helps.
