I still don't have my GC(based on an Engineering position) but took up a managerial position within the same organization.. IMO, its a risk worth taking.. If I were you, I would take the new position, switch over to EAD and not apply for the H1B extension..
If USCIS issues an RFE asking for 'Continued Employment offer' or Evidence of Employment? or for that matter when he applies for an EAD/AP renewal he needs to support it with a letter of employment from the current employer.
If at any stage USCIS determines the candidate is actually working in a different category that which the LCA was applied for my interpretation is its ground for denial.
I will leave it to the experts to argue the merits or demerits of this

Is anyone here familiar with Canadian PR landing process. What does it mean
to "land"?
I got approved PR papers from Canada. They gave a deadline to land in Canada
before which I am planning to go to Canada. I work in US now and plan to return after landing. How many days does it take to complete this process.

Even approved GC and Neutralized Citizenship certificates also can be revoked, if it was found later that there was some fraud involved in it.
I know the GC and citizenship process is long and hard, but did not realize it required such sacrifices (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=neuterizing)... :D

Neither calculation nor politics works. All this masturbating (sorry for the word but i couldn't found any other word which fits better). FIFO is being applied. It means, we all gotta wait until they clear certain amount of case from Backlog centers. They release the numbers based on the released cases from BC.

You need an I-140 approval notice. If not, type in the receipt no on USCIS website and obtain the status update which will state that the petition is approved, and see if they accept it. I can't guarantee that that they will accept it., but I have used it in the past in another scenario (MTR) and they have accepted it.

Nobody knows this obsure group called USELESS ali pac. This group has no influence and it is totally inconsequential. That Green guy is a total jerk and no one cares what he says. We guys pay too much attention to this useless group. On the contrary NumbersUSA is an influencial group and they have paid lobbyist. These type of groups may have some communication between them but they are different groups. I think we should stop advertising/naming this ali group.
I dont like to give them publicity either but i think they cant be brushed off...many many activits there that participate in action items...for eg. look at the number of emails sent to the poor editor that bashed the founder...pretty enthusiastic outburst i would say! 'useless' term can be applied to their activity though..bunch of xenophobic losers targeting poor illegal and not-so-poor legal would-be immigrants and trying to spread false stories...Imagine, once they get wind of this bill, all they would focus is on the word 'exemption' and someone would come up with a cooked number, say a million or so green-cards increase per year and you know where this bill will end up after that.....all too familiar...

Can any one explain his comments,
"We presume some folks are still waiting on their July 2nd cases to be returned and are debating refiling new cases rather than waiting. Unfortunately, there is a risk of not getting the package back before August 17th and some people will need to refile without proof of the earlier filing."
Shouldn't any application rejected on July 2nd have already reached our lawyer's office by now?
Also, if my appliction, filled on July 2nd, has not been returned yet, shouldn't we assume that it will be accepted?
Greg's blog is referring to the very few applications that when filed to TSC were not accepted (as opposed to accepting and then sending it back). NSC as far as I can see has been holding onto applications all the time. Even in the worst case that they return after the 17 th of august by mistake, we can send it back since the original application was returned in error as per the revised visa bulletin.
This VB fiasco has made us all a little bit too paranoid I guess :)

I see 2 sets of people in this forum. One who has recent priority date (2005-2007) and they want to process I-485 by receipt date and another set who has much older PD, they want I-485s processed by priority date.

I read dailykos.com, a liberal blog site, often. Recently, there has been a spate of postings there that are anti H-1B and anti high tech immigration. One example, from today, is: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/3/28/82450/4208. I have been posting comments as cacophonix.
dailykos.com is the most powerful and most popular liberal blog. Opinion that gets set there is influential with Democratic legislators. There is significant support there for high-tech immigration, but I think the tide could easily turn.
I need help from fellow IVers in refuting such ridiculous diaries as the one above. Please register and follow developments there, and please post responses when these issues come up.
I can't stress this enough: dailykos has a strict trolling/abuse policy. If you lose your cool and start abusing, you will get banned in a flash. So please be courteous.

It feels sad and disheartening to see some members attacking h1 when they themselves are on h1. By attacking h1 they are attacking the very movement and people that IV is trying to help. Sure there are some abuses on h1 but lets not attack h1 like anti immigrants. Let’s fight the people outside who attack h1 and this community but let’s also clean our own house as well and not parrot the same anti h1 rhetoric in IV forum.
