    Hi,

    Does anyone know of any cases that give the ipod touch the brushed aluminium 'ipad-like' look?

    I think it would be awesome! :)

    Or any other good metal cases?

    30% power savings sounds good to me. My regular AT&T cell phone is a battery hog and it is almost unreadable when the backlight is off. Having the LED display itself be the light sounds sweet. Imagine how much longer the iPhone battery life would have been with that kind of display, especially given the resolution differences are almost trivial at that size. I'm not sure Apple made the best choice here.

    =====-----=====

    It's weird, My MacBook Pro now wont boot into OS X lion, before the login screen it shows the mouse for a second and now it sticks at blue. :o

    =====-----=====

    From http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1564
    (Mac OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?)

    "Mac OS X v10.5.6 or later: A Safe Boot deletes the dynamic loader shared cache at (/var/db/dyld/). A cache with issues may cause a blue screen on startup, particularly after a Software Update. Restarting normally recreates this cache."

    =====-----=====

    From http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1455
    (Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode)

    "To start up into Safe Mode (to Safe Boot), do this:
    1. Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    2. Press the power button.
    3. Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
    4. Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear)."

    :)

    I don't know; at the 1st installation (10.3 + 10.3.7 combo + 10.3.8 patch + applications), everything was working untill I red my emails and tried to save as .pdf and try to print a popup of this web page; http://store.dxo.com/login.asp?LID=2.

    For the 2nd installation, I did (10.3 + 10.3.7 combo + 10.3.8 patch) but in safe boot mode. So I don't know...

    Now I'm still working in safe boot mode.

    Hi all

    Is there anywhere to get some cheap ram for the 2008 Mac Pro

    It seems to be so expensive everywhere that it almost makes it not worth the upgrade!

    Make sure you securely wipe the drive before you give it away. If its an SSD, you need to encrypt the volume before wiping it. Otherwise a 7 way random re-write should do the trick. (It will take a while to perform.)

    Cheers

    I'm guessing his mom isn't going to be running file recovery software on the mini...

    When I click the search box in IE6, the submit button does highlight, but I can still type in the text field.

    It might be the button:active declaration in the CSS that IE6 is hiccuping on.

    This always confuses me. Why do they call it a newsreader? Why not an RSS reader? This does nothing more than keep track of and read RSS feeds. It's not significantly different/better than the RSS capability built into Safari or Firefox.

    Maybe I'm a purist (or a snob), but to me a "newsreader" is an application used to read the newsgroups (the Usenet). Panic's Unison application is a newsreader. It connects to newsgroup servers and allows me to read posts and download attachments.

    Am I being too picky?

    You either loved or hated the puck. If it was clean, it felt great to use. I still have them and use one on the blueberry iMac I have in the garage. I personally liked it a lot. That said, I still use the original black Pro Mouse to this day with my main setup.

    You have an iMac in your garage?

    I was going to make a new thread but came across this post. I want to implement scenario #2. What mode would I put the airport express in? Would they be broadcasting the same network twice if I wired it up like this (meaning I would see WirelessNetworkName twice)?

    put it in "extend (bridge mode)" under connection sharing on the internet page.
    then give it the same SSID and security settings as the main base.
    your devices will automatically switch to the stronger signal as you move around the house. it will only appear once.
    most large locations (like airports (not apple's devices, but the places with airplanes)) do this, and you never know.

    that's only if you are using the same flavor of wireless (B,G, or N) on both units, if you are trying to create separate G & N networks, still use the bridge mode but give them different names. (up to you if the security settings are the same or not)

    Hi all,

    I invested in a D5000 about a year and a half ago to begin a new hobby. I was hoping to get opinions on if it would be worth it to try to make photography more than a hobby for me. I prefer nature, but would be willing to go for events maybe...I don't want to do portraits.

    I've inserted some of my work from a photo camp below. Any advice/criticism would be greatly appreciated :-).

    Depends if you have a decent phone wait youll be glad you did however if you do not have a phone get the 4 and enjoy it for at least another month:p Apple usually supports the phones for 2.5-3 years so the 4 still has plenty of life left.
